Celtics + Patriots = 2 Losses

So through 14 NFL games and 22 NBA Games...the Winter sports of my home city have 2 losses. Not too bad if you ask me especially since the Red Sox just won the World Series. No City has ever won 3 Championships in one season that I can find. I might be wrong about that but not in the modern era of sports. Red Sox - 1 down. 2 to go.....

The Patriots didn't kill the Jets like most thought - thank Mother Nature for that. But a win is a win. The Celtics are playing without Ray Allen...hasn't matter much. Next up - Don Shula's mouth and the Dolphins to shut up. Then New York for History.....won't matter at all though without a ring. And the Pats know that.

This will be the last full week of the Big Show for 2007. We'll be back on the 31st for the Biggie Awards which start tomorrow but we're off for the week of Christmas. 3 Jays games this week....none of them all that interesting. But tomorrow comes Houston Baptist with a 5:30 pregame show Live from Farrell's.....see you there.

Hey matt, I am a good person and don't like to pass judgement on others. However, since you are in a position to be judged I must do so. I honestly don't understand why you chose to come to a state and be so much against the state school. You obviously have some personal issues. I know you aren't doing it for ratings because there isn't any positive evidence to support that. Anyway, I suggest you rethink your agenda. I know you are trying to provide a show that is opened minded and objective. However, people don't tune into a local radio show to hear their favorite team being constantly picked on. Yes, I am mature enough to see there are problems that exist however, sometimes it is nice to hear the positives. If we want a broad anaylitical view we can tune into a nationally broadcasted show. Anyway, just wanted to offer a suggestion that I know you won't like.

Also, we are very much aware you are from Boston. That is nice. Im from Nebraska.

Maybe if your station could afford to stream you could get some Boston fans to listen to your show! That's just my opinion even though I was not paid to say it.

Sorry Matt, I'm not a Husker fan either (hell, I'm not even from Nebraska/Iowa either), but quit it on the Boston talk. Nobody gives a shit about Boston or Mass.

I'm not saying turn into a Husker schlup show like 1620 is, but cover Big 12, MVC, Omaha Royals, KC Royals, KC Chiefs, and any big national stuff. Stick to that and you'll keep and gather listeners. Or you could alienate them into listening to Boston Red Sox talk, which is as interesting as quilting to everyone in Omaha. Might work on WEEI, but not a chance on Big Sports.

The Blog isn't the show....it's my space to talk about the teams I like....look at the previous posts...I see Jays, Huskers, College Football etc...yes, I talk a lot about my teams....but since there aren't any pro teams around here - I talk about pro sports that I care about...

Blog isn't the show? My bad. I was somehow confused by your banner.

'The Blog home of "The Big Show with Matt Perrault" 2 pm to 6 pm Big Sports 590 Omaha Nebraska'

Any time MLB talk happens, it's how it affects the Red Sox...even with the Mitchell report. Obviously, not a huge MLB market in Omaha since everyone is into baseball for only 10 days a year at Rosenblatt. Everyone is too innundated with Red Sox and Yankees talk with the national media that we don't want to hear or read about it in the local. I would love to hear about my favorite team, but I don't expect that because I'm 100's of miles away. Plus, Big Sports is the affiliate of the KC Royals. Kind of funny that there is barely any talk of them.

Keep up the good work on the show. It's waaay better than "The Zone" who did some horrible, mythical, College football playoff last week. Wow, haven't seen that EVERYWHERE.

Matt's from Boston (area)? Who woulda thunk it?

Hey, where's "Matt's Hottest Female TV Personalities" this year? I like that sports talk.

It's not "Matt's" hottest TV Contest...I just put it on..the audience judges...I simply run it. When I give my opinion, I get accused of swaying the vote...so I don't say anything about it....and if you think I'm the first to do this - you're really mistaken.
