Well, at least they spelled my name right.
Just so we are all straight on my statements today that have caused some people to take shots at me now. 1. I said I believe Dana will end up being the greatest coach in MVC history after he is done with his time at CU...which I believe will be in around 10 years. I know Coach Iba, Coach Allen and others were in this league but it's harder now and Dana has built an amazing program here in Omaha with record success. Did those guys ever get 18k for a home game? Does any Valley school even get close to CU's attendance numbers? Nope and Dana's program is why the Qwest Center amazes people. A school of less than 8k, in a Mid-Major Conference - pulling Top 15 attendance numbers is amazing. 2. I said "When you're a Jackass" to describe the behavior of Double G last night...is that the same thing as saying he IS a Jackass...I don't know. Doesn't really matter to be honest, people will hear what they want to hear but just want it accurate as to what I really said exactly.
Look - Gregg Marshall is not liked in the MVC. Period. I've spoken with numerous people who work with and around the Valley and it's a badly kept secret that he doesn't have any friends with the power people in St. Louis. I don't know if WSU cares if their coach is liked or not but Marshall is quickly becoming the most hated man in the league. I will say it again : He's not at Winthrop anymore - he's in the Valley and this is a bigger stage. He can't behave this way and not lose the little bit of respect people had for him after year 1.
This latest episode just begins year 2 for him. I just wonder if he plans on getting thrown out of the MVC tourney again this year?
Mr. Marshall - Holding up how much class he has

Being greatest coach in MVC history is like being the greatest basketball player from Guam. Not very hard.
I don't think they are defending him, but discussing how big of donkey you are.
Oh and it looks like they thinking about a campaign to talk to Les Eck about how his advertising dollars are being spent.
You might want to drop this quickly and apologize to Marshall before this snow ball for you.
Hilarious!
Finally, a fanbase that is even more insecure than the Huskers!
Dana Altman all class? I bet you there are some people in Arkansas who would beg to differ.
"We pay attention attention in the Missouri Valley." Haha, oh my God, Matt!
Best coach ever in Mo Valley? Wow, that's saying alot. No wonder he didn't go to Arkansas. He knew he couldn't cut it in the big time league like he couldn't at KSU and was afraid he'd miss his #1 crush Matthew Perrault. I'm pretty sure Omaha has one of the top if not the top population in the Mo Valley so that does help contribute to the attendance and all the other areans in the Mo Valley are dumps.
Dana is 3rd in Valley wins right now - only 18 behind Iba for No. 1 Valley History. All Time - Dana is 3rd - 196 win behind Iba....10 years + 20 wins a year = Dana No. 1 in that category as well.
That's my point.
Like I said, being #1 coach in the Mo Valley isn't that impressive.
Coughunter:
You are truly showing your uneducated Husker bias. The only arena in the MVC that's a "dump" is SIU Arena in Carbondale. Otherwise, the MVC (by far) has the best facilities of any mid-major conference. Creighton, Wichita State, Mo State, Bradley, and UNI have facilities many "BCS" teams would drool over.
Just because you play in a dump doesn't mean that everyone else does.
Also, to your other resident Husker losers...Everyone in the MVC has won at least one tournament game in their history. (wink, wink) Remember, just because you play in the Big XII doesn't mean jack. Stop using it as a crutch. You are the worst program in the HISTORY of the Big XII/8 and you only have Northwestern and South Florida to look at as peers.
And beav, you need serious help. The obsession you carry is comical (in a sad way).
Go UMBC!
Former WSU coach Mark Turgeon has more wins in the NCAA tournament than gawdDANAgawd. Bah Wah!!!!!!
Let's see the Valley consistantly win some games against non mid major teams and you can talk. I'd rather watch games in the "dump" then be surrounded by a bunch of turtleneck and docker wearing homos that only are only there to talk to the other fans to see where they can get a pair of good oxfords. The qwest is like a church packed full of 17,000. Not really hard to win in the Valley against "mid majors" rather maybe 3 "mid majors" the rest "low majors." I know it hurts that Doc is 2-1 against Dana with less talented teams. 54-52, and maybe if you are lucky Matt will let you help him confess his love to Dana.
Rasputin,
So Nebraska is the worst team in Big 12 history? That doesn't say much for Creighton than if the worse team in Big 12 series owns the record in the Nebraska-Creighton matchup!
Creighton fans don't know much about basketball at all, just basic knowledge. Kind of sad, really.
By the way Rasputin in case you forgot CU plays in a city arena that they pay to use. So call the BOB a dump all you want but the fact is that it's their own arena. Just cause it doesn't have a meeting area where everyone can sit around and talk and sip martinis and not pay attention to the game doesn't mean it's a dump...actually not a bad seat in that place unlike the qwest. I'm sure memorial stadium is a dump too. Wait, you wouldn't know cause there's no such thing as a CU/NU football fan right? Why don't you go help Matt buy some UGGS for his sister.
I don't think the Devaney is a dump. It's only 30 years old, if the Devaney is a dump then Memorial stadium must be nothing but a big landfill according to some people cause it's been there a heck of a lot longer. The Devaney could use some renovations if they aren't going to build a new arena, but a dump it is not. Least you can still see the floor when your at the highest seat in the Devaney. If you're in the highest seat of the Qwest everything looks like a speck. I like the Qwest though, one of the best concert arenas in the country.

Matt,
First, I agree with your contention that Marshall should know that when you act like a jackass, you are going to get called out on it. No one knows this better than you.
Second, does every team that plays aggressive defense and doesn't simply sit back and allow Creighton to run their sets mean that they are "hackers" or "street fighters"???
Last, Rasputin, playing in the Big 12 or 8 as it relates to NCAA tournament wins does mean "jack". It's called the law of large numbers and the fact the CU plays in a crappy conference means that they have had many more opportunities to even play in NCAA tourney games, and yes, win "at least one", which seems to be the only thing CU backers have to hang their hat on when it comes to a comparison to Nebraska.
