Congrats To KU

Nice win tonight....too mistakes by V.Tech. KU showed that they belonged in the BCS - just not over Missouri. I was wrong about them....I hoped V Tech would roll....and they didn't.

How bad is Fox by the way? Yikes.....

Finally, and it's gonna be fun to watch this since I keep getting email about it:

RPI of Oregon - 61 9-4 - just lost again to Arizona St.
RPI of St. Joe - 62 7-4 (realtimerpi.com)
RPI of Creighton - 63 9-3
RPI of Nebraska - 137 10-2

What's more impressive....two wins over teams in a conference that's rated third in the RPI or one win over a team in a conference that's rated 8th in the RPI? By the way, when will P'Allen transfer when he realizes Dana Altman's offense is damaging is NBA stock?

You fail to realize that Oregon's rpi and Nebraska's rpi will get better as the season goes on, and Creighton and St. Joe's will get worse as they both play in crap conferences. It must really hurt you that almighty Creighton is getting worse and looks to be a team that may be one of the worse in the lowly MVC.

No I realize nothing except how sensitive you guys are when it comes to facts....like scoreboard.

Unreal. What does Matt talk about on his show for the rest of the basketball season? For him it's a one game season. And Husker fans are sensitive???? LOL. It's hilarious how CU fans desperately seek NU fans approval.

Too funny, Matty. Jays lose a couple of games and look like a middle-of-the-road MVC team (if they're lucky) and you revert back to a game months ago. Nobody cares about that game anymore (except those that suck and need to hang their hat on something). Finishing high in the Big 12 is priority #1. The Huskers could lose to the jays every year, and if they finish high in conference and go to the dance, we'd be happy.

Sensitive? You raise the issue and then shout sensitivity when Husker fans try to argue for their team. What is the point of your blog entries and show if anyone who has an argument contrary to yours is just hyper-sensitive? Better yet, raise an issue and then just claim scoreboard when you have nothing better to say. I wonder how Nebraska's use of the scoreboard argument would have worked last year if someone would have used that on your show. Not very well I presume. In sum, your counter-arguments usually reflect that of a college kid arguing with someone at the bar. Usually they don't even address the initial issue but are just pulled out of a hat of one-liners that you have saved up for that time when someone actually has a differing opinion.

Funny how for some reason the Scoreboard was irrelevant last year. And scoreboard doesnt always tell all the facts. Thank God we are sensitive, otherwise nobody would comment on the blog or listen to the show.

It's fun to say scoreboard and watch you guys freak out. What has Nebraska done this year? Please tell me...losses in both road games...a win over a team that has lost 3 of 4 games now...a win over a team in ASU that hasn't gone on the road yet.

Nobody is saying that the Jays are good right now but you guys are acting like you've got a leg to stand on with a basketball arguement. It's going to a rock fight with a feather...

Erik Cartwright said...

Scoreboard? Seriously? Your going to use that weak card? I remember you getting incredibly angry with Husker fans LAST year far using "scoreboard" too many times for your liking and now, that's all you've got. Don't you have another team to jump on the bandwagon? I hear the Omaha Lancers are decent AND they serve beer there....

Erik Cartwright said...

and FYI....Arizona State has gone on the road 4 times, losing to Illinois and Nebraska and beating Princeton and LSU. You have heard of Google right????

SpinSports590 said...

What I do realize, is that your the baby that is hurting so bad cause your Jays are turning into an irrelevant mid-major. Your going to try and find every avenue to dis the Huskers, just to make you feel better. You guys don't want to be the little brother of NU, but you sure act like it!

ASU has played ONE ROAD game FYI. 3 games in Hawaii. Lost 2 of 3 there and lost only road game...thus - They haven't gone on the road yet and done anything...

Erik Cartwright said...

Actually they won 2 of 3 there -- looks like both us can't google well :)

This stuff is funny to read at times. Alot of insecurity going on here. I gotta side with Matt on the ASU subjects, as they have only 1 true road game at NU, the other 3 roads games were on a single neutral court in Lahaina Hawaii

SpinSports590 said...

I guess I'll take that win over an overrated Oregon team and an unproven Arizona State team anyday over a loss to a crappy Indiana State team. We'll see what has bigger weight come Selection Sunday.

Matt Perrault said...

Ok - you are right - won 2 of 3...both of us were wrong :). This post was about KU - BB just was a toss in...

Hey Matt. Oregon just beat #3 rpi Arizona at Arizona. Can you explain to me any reason that Creighton should have a higher rpi than Nebraska?

Hell, can you explain to me any reason why Creighton is a better team than Nebraska? And don't say scoreboard...........because that's lame.

We both know that if Nebraska and Creighton were to play again that Nebraska would run Creighton right off the court. Also, I see no way that Creighton could score 50 on Nebraska.

Matt Perrault said...

You are probably right but too bad Doc is too afraid to find out in future years....

beav said...

And wouldn't you agree that Doc is doing a better job coaching/developing his team than Altman?

beav said...

Also, here is what should happen. Creighton and Nebraska should play 2 games a year. 1 game should be a Nebraska home game at Devaney. The other should be a neutral court game at Qwest. Tickets should be split up evenly among the fans.

Now you probably wouldn't go for that saying that is unfair to Creighton. However, Creighton needs the Nebraska game far more than Nebraska does. Nebraska's SOS would be just fine without playing Creighton on a yearly basis.

MattSantaMaria said...

I just love it when people spew off complete opinions as if they were cold, hard facts.

How could you possibly sit here and just assume Nebraska would run Creighton out of the gym in they played tomorrow? Do you have a magic 8-ball?

Creighton and Nebraska could schedule a game tomorrow at the Qwest and I can tell you with 100 percent certainty that Creighton would be favored. And rightfully so.

beav said...

Firstly, play tomorrow at the qwest? That wouldn't make any sense.

Secondly, I could assure you that vegas would have Nebraska as a favorite over Creighton.

Thirdly, why would Creighton be favored over Nebraska right now? Matchups? ........definitely not
current momentum?........Creighton is coming off two bad losses and a win against a team as bad as them. Watching CU vs. MSU reminded me of watching a high school basketball game. Both teams were inept on offense.

Matt Perrault said...

I can guarantee you that if the Jays played NU at the Qwest that the line wouldn't more than 2 points either way.

beav said...

Devaney a bigger homecourt advantage than the Qwest. That has nothing to do with the build.........it has everything to do with the fans. That student section at Creighton is a joke.

sublime_fan27 said...

Devaney, if packed, is a hell of a tough place to play. The only thing packed at the Qwest Center for a Creighton game is the beer line.

beav said...

Games at the Qwest Center are more of a social event than anything else.

CubsNSkers05 said...

a whopping 50 points against a 4th place missouri valley team at best? jeez quite the W for the Creighton resume.

Matt Perrault said...

I can't believe you guys continue to talk...your RPI and SOS is ridiculous. 330 SOS! 330!! with Oregon!

Stop talking please.

SpinSports590 said...

We'll see where our SOS is come the end of the year after playig in the Big 12. It really doesn't matter as long as you beat the teams that are put in front of you. The conference schedule and record will have MUCH more emphasis placed on it than the non conference SOS. That's why Doc is right that the Creighton game was the 17th most important game of the season. I can't wait for the Kansas game, so everyone in Nebraska can see the best team to come into Nebraska in years. I think NU will be competitive, but I am not going to predict a victory like Creighton fans do before every game they play. However if NU does pull the upset, are you going to give them any credit or will it be just an absolute fluke.

magic said...

Matt if you want the talk to quit you have to quit feeding it. simple as that. Worse than a little kid.

beav said...

NU 23
CU 18

Scoreboard

SpinSports590 said...

Sportsline has NU as one of the last 4 in the tourney, and has Creighton left out saying as of now the Valley only deserves the automatic bid. I am guessing they are banking on us not being #330 in SOS come end of year.

MattSantaMaria said...

The Devaney is a bigger homecourt advantage than the Qwest? That might be one of the dumber things I've read since I began reading these comments, which is really saying something.

For a team that can't sniff the recent success of Creighton on the basketball court, Nebraska fans sure do talk an awful lot.

MattSantaMaria said...

And if you don't think Creighton would be favored at the Qwest if they played the Huskers again, you don't obviously know a hole lot about how lines are constructed.

Or you just have a shortterm memory of what happened on that floor a month ago...

CubsNSkers05 said...

While I remember what happened the last few times we met on the floor but what I do remember is we have 1 loss since then while Creighton has 3. Nebraska loss was to a team from the sun belt who may very well win it. Creighton's losses Xavier could very well win the A-10, Illinois St finishes 5th at best IMO, Indiana St finishes 6-8th maybe.
