0-4 After 2nd KU Blow Out

84-49 = 0-4 Big 12 record for NU. What I thought was going to happen for NU Basketball....did. Now can they beat MU on the road? Doubt it. Nebraska may be the worst team in the Big 12 and I don't know where they get their first Big 12 win. 3 of the next 4 are at home after Missouri.....they have a shot a few wins there but Iowa St, Texas Tech and Kansas St are all starting to play better.

Jays are at SIU tonight....we are at the Cove at 144th and Maple for a viewing party starting at 8...see you there.

You should mention somewhere in your anti-Nebraska rant that they are 0-4 in the big 12 after losing twice to the number 1 team in the country. If Creighton plays NU's schedule they are either 1-3 or 0-4. So don't be a smart alec by pointing out Nebraska is 0-4. Nebraska doesn't have the luxary of playing tough divisional foes such as the Evansville purple aces or the Indiana State Sycamores.
By the way, a difference between NU and CU this year is the following. Both teams are rebuilding. However Sadler is redshirting 4 players. 3 of which (Richardson, McCray, Edwards) are talented players that would be in the top 8 had they not be redshirting. The future looks bright for Nebraska.

Ya you better take the credit for that prediction Matt, I guess everyone else (my 8 yr. old daughter) must have thought NU would hang with KU. You mean there was somebody else that thought NU was going to beat KU besides my daugher?

Is SIU ranked ahead of Kansas? I didnt have time to check the rankings lately

Top 8 of what exactly?

I meant top 8 in Nebraska's rotation. I've seen these guys play before. Brandon Richardson and Toney McCray would easily be in the top 8 of Nebraska's rotation if they weren't redshirting.

Matt, Oh my God! You host a sports talk show and couldnt figure out what Top 8 in beav's comment meant. I guess now it makes more sense where you come up with some of your comments. Like taking Doc's comments out of context to promote your thoughts

nebraska is not good this year, neither is creighton. you truly falter when you try to pump up creighton's program by comparing it to nebraska's. if creighton is so good with the potential in your words to become a "powerhouse" you should really focus on a team which actually has some success to point towards. nebraska will probably be ahead of creighton in three years so keep running on your hamster wheel and enjoy the NIT.

How come only disgruntled husker basketball fans post on here? Are you trying to make excuses for your team?

I'm not trying to compare NU with CU because there is no comparison. One has a program. One is trying to build one.

i wouldn't call myself a "disgruntled husker fan". i went to the game in lawrence yesterday and truly enjoyed watching Kansas destroy nebraska. i am an alum of KU, a real basketball school, program, fan base, etc. etc. i do, however, like doc sadler and i feel like he will move the program along to the point of being competitive with creighton with more success in the tournament. that's all. just accept the fact that creighton is a nice little program which registers little more than an occaisional blip on the national radar.

48-44. Was that the score at halftime?

don geevafuc said...

no, that was the final score. i think the world herald accidentally listed it with the girls high school scores. after watching creighton versus drake and creighton versus southern i am inclined to think that girls basketball and creighton basketball in the mo valley are not too dissimilar.

Don't forget that KU has lost to Bucknell and Bradley in the NCAA tournament....I wouldn't talk just yet there big guy. That would be a Valley school and a Patriot league school....

Not talk about KU yet? What more do you need to say. They have pretty much blown away everyone they have played. They have solid wins over USC and UCLA. They are extremely balanced on offense. Their defense is exceptional. I think a majority of people who follow basketball closely would say Kansas is a favorite to win it all. Brandon Rush shot 2-14 against Missouri at Columbia......and they still won.

KU would beat every MVC team by margins of 30-50 points.

Moreover, the MVC is a mid major league. Creighton and SIU are mid major schools. Every now and again they have strong senior led teams. However, most of the time they are NIT level teams. They get recognition for being successful in a league that is not nearly as good as leagues suchs as the Big 12 or the ACC. They RPIs are inflated becuase enough of these mid majors schools have decided to play each other and shunning schools in major conferences.

"Don't forget that KU has lost to Bucknell and Bradley in the NCAA tournament....I wouldn't talk just yet there big guy. That would be a Valley school and a Patriot league school...." - matt p

yeah, i am all broken up about that. KU, under new coach bill self, had some very talented players which didn't totally buy into self's system and they lost. the seniors left and KU had a very young but talented (and overrated seed) team and lost to a bradley team with four guys who were about 23 year old men. KU was young and didn't play well and lost, it happens. somehow though KU still manages to get the high seeds, get to elite 8's and final fours and final games. they are always knocking on the door. this will probably be their year. remember when KU blew the syracuse game by not being able to make even 50% of their free throws? 50% puts KU as the national champs. the story went from a very nice KU team winning it all to carmello anthony being the best freshman ever. KU is always there, the valley is lame. that, right there, is the story "big man". face it, the valley is pretty lame. they manage to put up a nice win here and there but it never amounts to anything. do i need to go on about creighton in the tournament? that is the funniest part of it all. you hype up creighton to be this high level team just waiting to show what they can do but all they ever have to show are return flight ticket stubs and disillusioned fans greeting them at the airport applauding their great but unfulfilled seasons.

You are an idiot, Creighton sucks and the Valley is again looking like a crappy conference like it used to be.

Matt have you seen KU play this year? They're not merely good. Thats a GREAT basketball team.

Matt,
To be honest you've come a long way. I thought your comments on the show today were fairly accurate. I would take exception to one thought you expressed today, that being that the only time you get comments is when you seem to talk about Nebraska basketball. You intimated that the only time we speak is when you talk NU basketball and that folks begin to rant and rave. Some of that is true. Of course fans will speak up when you talk against their team. What you don't recognize is that when you disrespect Nebraska - our team - that is when you feel the ire of all of the fans.

Today you stated your opinion and while I hold our team in higher regard than you do I appreciate that at least you spoke with a respectful tone. You at least called our coach by his name rather than using a totally disrespect full sobriquet. Although I've never heard you apologize for speaking that way toward Coach Sadler at least you've stopped using that term and for that you should be recognized for at least understanding that you stepped out of line a few weeks ago.

So go Huskers!
