Disgusting......

There aren't enough words to discribe how bad the Bluejays are right now. This was a year that was suppose to be up and down but the one thing that you can't ever forgive is lack of effort and energy. For back to back road games, CU hasn't been out-everything'd by their opponent. Today is Bradley HAMMERING the Jays in every area! Last game it was Evansville making more plays than the Jays. It's pretty sickening to watch this team right now. NOTHING positive to build on.

We are talking about some pretty serious records being in jeopardy all of a sudden. The Jays have gone to the postseason for 10 straight years. They have won 20 games for 9 straight years. They have won 10 Valley games 11 straight years. ALL ARE NOW IN QUESTION!

17-8. 8-7. The schedule the rest of the way is Vs. Missouri St. @ Oral Roberts, @ Illinois St., Vs. Bradley. 2-2 is possible but no guarantee. That would make the first game of the Valley tourney a must win to keep the 20 win streak alive.

Plus, with the NIT now allowing the champions of leagues that don't make the NCAA to auto qualify - it becomes much harder to make the field of 32 for the NIT. The Jays will need to finish no lower that 4th in the Valley in my opinion to get in. Right now, the sit in 4th place but with a ton of teams right around them. The Jays could finish as low as 7th if they aren't careful!!! And do you still believe in Dana's ability to coach in St. Louis? I do. But this team is so inconsistent you can't believe in them to win 3 games in a row in 3 days.

There is still time....but not much time. If the M.O. holds true - the Jays should win their remaining 4 games....but it sure doesn't look like that is possible right now.

That one makes me smile. Nevermind...I'm laughing now!

Somewhere there is a confused kid wearing a creighton sweatshirt and nebraska hat that doesn't have a team to cheer for anymore...

u guys do realize that nebraska lost today after being up 24-11 at half today.

Yes, I do realize that. It's sad. Only Nebraska is that inept on offense to allow 11 points in one half and still lose. It was even a fairly officiated ballgame...which has become rare in the Big 12 the past couple of years.

With that said...losing to Iowa State by a few points in a Big 12 conference road game is no where near humiliating as getting queered by Bradley by almost 30 points.

Sure, Nebraska can hang their heads for losing a road game against Iowa State. But Creighton should end their season for getting blown out by Bradley by 30 points! Funny!

We do realize that NU lost today, but in not near as a humiliating defeat as Creighton. Weren't you just talking a couple of days ago how Creighton was so good and turning the corner? Boy, if Creighton is an NCAA or an NIT team it would be a miracle. Finishing in the middle of the pack in a week Missouri Valley is not too impressive. Creighton is slowly making their way back to where they were before Altman was here. The Big Sky of the midwest will only get one team this year, and that is all they deserve.

Yea I also realize the Jays blew a double-digit second half lead to the mighty Purple Aces, and got spanked by Bradley. I also noticed that the game yesterday was played in front of a sold out crowd in Peoria so I guess you can't blame the beat down on lack of attendance this time, but then again you always have the bad officiating card. P'dominated.

Creighton is just like their mid-major equivalent counterparts Weber State. They are just having a bad year. The MVC and The Big Sky are both not helping the mid-majors get anymore respect this year.

The main reason Creighton is bad right now is because Dana Altman is mismanaging this team. To any objective observer, Creighton's best players are Stinnett, Witter, Woodfox, Lawson, and Watts. These players should be getting 30+ minutes a game. Dotzler, Bahe, Hibma, Millard are not the most talented or atheletic players. Altman should put his best players on the floor, regardless of their experience, and let them gain crucial game experience. If Altman is going to recruit players like P'Allen Stinnett, Cavel Witter, and Kenny Lawson then he needs to learn how to properly utilized. I imagine the regime in Lincoln would be able to better utilize these players in a system that maximizes their respective talents.

My Dear Friend Matt

Dear Mr. Perrault, went to the Jays game tonight against Missouri State. The place looked pretty thin; lots of empty seats, especially in the student section. Perhaps you should call your ole' pal Doc Sadler and apologize for trying to get Jay's fans to boycott the Nebraska/Oregon game since the Quest is the PROUD home of the Creighton Bluejays. Maybe Jays fans will accept Doc's invitation back to the Quest Center and put some more butts in the seats than I saw tonight; who knows, some Husker fans might even show up to root on the Bluejays and see how they rebound from losses to both Bradley (by nearly 30 points) and the mighty Purple Aces of Evansville. Husker football fans are bandwagon??? "Hello, it's the pot calling, can the kettle come to the phone please..."

Hey RW,

You have 3000 tickets left for a HOME game vs. the NO. 24 team in the COUNTRY tonight. 15,200 people came out to a game after 2 losses in FREEZING weather...have you had anywhere near that kinda support? I'd think not. It was a tuesday night game...great showing by the fans given the situation. And you do realize that the Jays had more fans at their game last night than the HUSKERS did vs. a top 20 team...sad that you spent time writing something you know nothing about.

I was at the game. There is absolutely no way there were 15,200 people there. The student section was maybe - MAYBE half full, I'd say more like 1/3 full.

The upper bowls on the ends were mostly empty as was the upper corners behind press row.

Around the lower bowl was a healthy smattering of empty seats all night - granted the concourse was jam packed with 12 year old kids running around.

Unless there were 3,000 people not in the seats and elsewhere (club lounge, bud bar, etc that number was seriously inflated.

I think that was a paid attendance number from a program that might only have their "Top 15 in the Nation in Attendance" streak alive at the end of the year. 20 win season, 10 conf wins, and postseason streaks are in serious jeopardy.

Ahhh….the Omaha media double-standard. Facts are reported one way for Creighton and an entirely different way for Nebraska. Let us take a walk down memory lane. Remember 2 years ago? When Omaha media was trying to run down every Husker athletic program there was? Tom Sha-Sha-Shatel making up stories about the athletic department only to find out he was lying and exaggerating about the events that transpired. Remember the apology? It’s not like Tom Sha-Sha-Shatel needed to make up stories to make Steve “The Vision” Pederson look bad. Lord knows there was plenty of ammunition there already. During that time period, another disgusting Omaha media parasite, Lee Barfpuke, left the Nebraska football crusade in order to destroy the Barry Collier regime, which was more than fine by me at the time. It was pretty obvious that he (Barry) was bringing in mid-major talent into a major conference and wasn’t able to develop them at a level that met our needs at the Big 12 level. Collier was a great guy, very classy, and ran an uber-clean program…but Barry, like Dana Altman, is nothing more than a great mid-major coach that will get ran in big time college basketball (sort of like Dana did at K-State).

Anyway, to make a long story short, Barfpuke’s main attack tactic was the Bob Devaney Center’s attendance. Which is more than fine, it defiantly wasn’t good. But, like the disgusting snake that Lee Barfpuke is, he started skewing the University’s attendance numbers to further his agenda. At first, he just flat out lied about Nebraska’s attendance numbers. He got caught and called it a “misprint”. Then he started reporting only the number of people to walk through the turn style and reported it as “official”. He gets busted again and calls it an “accident”.

My point is that many of these Omaha media dirtballs flat out lie to meet whatever agenda they want. Whatever happened to integrity in the media? It’s not just local sports either. Look at Dan Rather…he let his Liberalism and disdain for President Bush get to him so bad that he just fabricated a story about Bush trying to throw the election. Just take a look around Omaha. Tom “Plagiarize” Sha-Shat-Shatel, Lee Barfpuke, Matt Perrault, Travis Justice??? That’s far from anything resembling integrity! There is nothing that makes it okay to report facts differently for two different entities to meet your agenda.

Hey Matt, if we applied this rule to you:

...sad that you spent time writing something you know nothing about.

you couldn't write or say anything.

Matt Perrault said...

Funny Andy - you are reading my blog. Check the name of the site.

I was at the CU game...and the upper bowls WERE NOT empty at all. Students didn't show but CU doesn't announce tickets sold...they announce bodies in the arena.

Enough about Matt.

Hey, how about them Huskers! This K-State game shows why Coach Sadler is going to lead this team deep into the NCAAs sometime in the next three years. Doc knows how to get the best out of his team. Heck this team doesn't even come close to the talent level of K-State but Doc's players play - for the team, then for the fans and not for themselves.

I don't care if anyone in Omaha likes the Huskers or not because I do! They play basketball the way it should be played.

darby said...

Um....well... congrats to the Blue Jays on selling tickets....I guess. Yea for you!!! Way to go....

It's too bad there were 3000 tickets left over for tonight's NU vs KSU game. It was amazing! That's 3000 people who missed out on an exciting game, a NU victory, and also watching a first round draft pick.

At one time NU did have that kind of support where they sold out every game. Everyone loves a winner a true fan supports the team.

If CU's program declines will there still be sell outs?

Brian in Lincoln said...

With the NU game on TV against KSU, on a school night (since a Tuesday game hurt CU's attendance) it is not a big surprise that 3,000 seats were left. Hey at least NU has their own place to play and are not just tenants to a land lord.

Matt, you are a big cry baby if you don't know that already

matt blaming the "FREEZING" weather on Creighton's attendance on Tuesday night, but conveniently forgets to mention Nebraska just played on the coldest day of the year, with a parking situation that is 500X worse than the Qwest Center. Fans can expect to sit in their cars at least 20 minutes after the game if you don't beat the rush. Nebraska draws quite well considering these factors and that the team is wildly inconsistent. Still should be better attendance though. But if the excuses apply to creighton they sure better apply to Nebraska.

don geevafuc said...

of course the weather does not factor into matt's argument about husker attendance. that only matters for creighton games, duh. don't you remember when nebraska beat oregon and matt didn't seem to understand why an overnight snow storm combined with an early tip time would prevent people from driving 50 miles to watch a game on the bluejay's home (rented) court? wait, the jays own their court but rent the building and the huskers had to rent a court to play on against oregon. why does matt even care about that stuff? he is kind of a doofus if you guys had not noticed.

WelcomeBackDana said...

I love CU and Doc Sadler is a total joke!! That being said, i went to the Oregon game when a friend of mine's girlfriend (huskerfan by the way) backed out at the last minute. That crowd in no way shape or form comapres to the REAL patrons of Q Center Omaha when they are on. Granted that varies from game to game and I will be the first to admit that. But the double OT game last night, the comeback against WSU, the beat down that we finally put on southern, and the OT game with St Joe's just can't be matched by NU fans. Hey Darby, cu's program isn't going anywhere on Altman's watch so you better get used to it. This was going to be a down year for us, and we still got our 20 W's.
